JEFFREY COHEN
ADVANCED CERTIFIED
JIVAMUKTI
YOGA® TEACHER |
 |
ANDREA BOYD
ADVANCED CERTIFIED JIVAMUKTI
YOGA® TEACHER |
Jeffrey Cohen received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in Psychology. Jeffrey's interest in spirituality and yoga stem from an active adolescence of athletics, addiction, behavioral problems, numerous therapists, and "alternative" education. His subsequent failure to respond to traditional methods of psychotherapy were the seedlings to the realization that it is through divine community (satsang) and devotion that one can one obtain healing, humility, and salvation.
A student and practitioner of yoga since 1995, Jeffrey has become a sought after presenter around the world having taught workshops and retreats in the United States, Mexico, and Europe. He was a resident teacher at the Jivamukti Yoga School in New York City and has assisted his teachers Sharon Gannon & David Life on the national yoga conference level. Video and radio projects include collaborations with Russell Simmons and Martha Stewart. He has also studied with Ram Dass, Jack Kornfield, Dharma Mittra, and others.
Jeffrey's classes are infused with spontaneity, spirit, humor, metaphor, rigor, and incredible musical soundtracks. He emphasizes students to get out of their own way by selflessly offering their efforts to benefit all beings, by which their greatest happiness is achieved.
He offers his love, gratitude, and efforts to his many teachers. Among them are: his parents, his wife Andrea, Sharon Gannon, David Life, Geshe Michael Roche, Jack Kornfield, Ram Dass, Krishna Das, Rock n Roll, and all the courageous students of yoga. |

I’ve been studying and practicing yoga for 12 years, and became certified in May 2003. My teachers have inspired me with tireless efforts and enthusiasm to spread peace throughout the world, emphasizing that yoga practice instills grace, humility, consciousness, and the importance of taking care of others. I’m a joyful practicing vegan and feel it is the most beautiful choice I've made as a human being.
I am humbly grateful to my gurus Sharon Gannon and David Life for their boundless courage, teachings, wisdom, guidance, and love. To Ruth Lauer-Manenti for her purity, for opening my heart and teaching the sutras. To Ram Dass for his intelligence, simplicity, and humor. To Estelle Eichenberger for challenging me. To Krishna Das for the sweet sounds of God. To Sri Dharma Mittra, for overflowing with nectar. To my parents- words cannot suffice. To Jeffrey, my satsang and true love. For the practice and study of yoga and all who have the courage to be radical.
{Andrea has traveled the world teaching, and has had the honor to assist her teachers. Often described as an earnest and compassionate teacher, her classes are disciplined, challenging, fun and creative, with strong messages grounded in scripture. You will feel inspired to be kind.}

STACEY REAVIS - CERTIFIED JIVAMUKTI YOGA® TEACHER
I started practicing yoga in 2001, while living in Chicago, mainly because it was free with my gym membership. I wanted something to add to my exercise program. As I was soon to discover there was much more to this "yoga thing" than just exercise. After years of practicing yoga in a multitude of different styles and studios all over the country, gratefully I found the Jivamukti method at Satsang Yoga. Through these teachings I have discovered a profound understanding about love, compassion, and kindness. I am continually inspired by my teachers Jeffery Cohen and Andrea Boyd to further my practice and unveil the true Self. I am also humbly thankful to my teachers Sharon Gannon and David Life for their huge generosity of spirit and showing me how to be at home in my own heart. I hope to bring enthusiasm, insight, love, challenge, spontaneity and great music to my classes.

WILLIS TANT - CERTIFIED JIVAMUKTI YOGA® TEACHER
In 1998, I began a true search to regain my body, mind, and spirit connection. Being very overweight and emotionally distraught, as well as a deeply philosophical and spiritual person, I turned to yoga. I’ve been blessed by many wonderful teachers who have served me on this mystical journey. In 2005, I found Satsang, and felt abundant transformation with this community and the powerful teachings from Andrea Boyd and Jeffrey Cohen. Although I’d been working to spread Union into every aspect of my life, the potency of these teachings gave me an awareness and clarity that created a feeling of being truly AWAKE!
I have since gone to study with their (and now my) teachers Sharon Gannon and David Life. I am particularly grateful for their guidance in non-violence, scriptural study, and meditation. Gratitude to ALL who have inspired me through their devotion. I strive to create an environment within a yoga class and myself where others feel free, happy, inspired, and open to grow. My husband & I homestead creatively and organically on Johns Island SC & play and work to serve children, animal and plant beings- for the evolvement and happiness of all. We try to serve this existence following Ghandi’s words “My life is my message.” |

She travelled to India this year, spending four months in the darshan of many teachers and enlightened ones. She studied Vedanta on the banks of the Ganga in Rishikesh and plans to return. She is inspired by the teachings of Yogi Bhajan and shares Kundalini as a path of awareness and deep healing.
